PSR Solutions are proud to be partnering with a leading civil engineering contractor to recruit a commercially astute Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a major £30m bridge project.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established contractor delivering complex infrastructure schemes. The business has a strong track record across major civil engineering projects and offers the chance to gain valuable experience on a technically challenging structure involving piling and fibre reinforced concrete (FRC) works.
The Project
A £30m bridge scheme comprising significant piling operations, reinforced concrete works, and associated infrastructure. The project is site-based and offers the successful candidate the opportunity to be heavily involved in the commercial management of a high-value, complex civil engineering package.
The Role
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, supporting the commercial function across the project lifecycle.
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial control, robust forecasting, and detailed reporting.
Key responsibilities will include:
Assisting with cost forecasting and budget management
Producing accurate monthly CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations)
Supporting subcontract procurement and commercial administration
Managing subcontractor valuations and payments
Monitoring costs and reporting financial performance
Assisting in managing change, risk, and contractual compliance
Supporting final account processes
Requirements
Experience working for a Tier 1 or large Tier 2 main contractor ()
Background in civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
Demonstrable experience in cost forecasting and financial reporting
NEC contract knowledge advantageous but not essential
Stable career history with proven time in service (no frequent job moves)
Ambitious and keen to develop within a structured commercial team
