A leading construction, fit-out and refurbishment contractor is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated QS professional with at least 2 years’ experience to develop their career working on prestigious, high-profile projects across sectors including commercial, hospitality, healthcare, education and landmark developments.
The company has an excellent reputation for delivering award-winning construction and fit-out projects throughout the UK and internationally, with a strong pipeline of work and continued growth across multiple sectors.
The Role Working closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, the successful candidate will support the commercial delivery of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting with cost planning and budget management
* Preparing valuations, variations and cost reports
* Supporting subcontract procurement and package management
* Monitoring project costs and financial performance
* Assisting with contract administration and final accounts
* Liaising with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors
* Supporting commercial risk management
* Maintaining accurate records and reporting documentation
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role
* Experience within construction, fit-out or refurbishment projects
* Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction-related discipline
* Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial software systems
* Full UK driving licence
