The Role

This client is looking for a driven and detail-focused Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a respected multi-disciplined contractor delivering projects across civil engineering, utilities and construction.

You’ll be working closely with an experienced commercial team, gaining hands-on exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle while developing your technical and commercial skills.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tenders.

* Support the measurement and valuation of works (including site visits).

* Help manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and variations.

* Maintain accurate records and assist with monthly valuations and cost reports.

* Work with the project team to identify and manage commercial risks.

* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.

* Assist with the preparation of final accounts.

What you must have

* Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying (or working towards).

* 1–2 years’ industry experience preferred (placement or graduate experience considered).

* Strong numerical, analytical, and IT skills.

* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

* Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
