Location: London (Office-based, no hybrid working)
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (DOE)

The Company
A growing main contractor specialising in high-end refurbishment and renovation projects, predominantly on listed buildings, with occasional new build schemes. With a current turnover of £3–4m and ambitions to grow to £10m in the next few years, the business delivers projects across London, the South East, and into the Cotswolds, working closely with architects and direct clients.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Senior Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to completion. This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in multiple live projects or several work packages, depending on your experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation, pricing, and submission of tenders.
* Day-to-day commercial management of projects, including valuations, variations, and cost tracking.
* Manage subcontractor procurement and performance alongside the Senior Surveyor.
* Administer JCT Intermediate contracts (with elements of contractor-designed M&E and drainage).
* Prepare accurate and timely cost reports and forecasts.
* Maintain strong relationships with architects, clients, and subcontractors.
* Ensure projects are delivered on budget, while protecting commercial interests.
* Contribute to the refinement of commercial processes as the business grows.
About You
* 2+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role (Assistant QS or Project QS level).
* University-educated
* Strong time management, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Confident in negotiating and managing costs with subcontractors.
* Resilient and resourceful, ideally with life experience that has developed your ability to think on your feet and take responsibility.
