Location: Swadlincote, Derbyshire, East Midlands, UKAssistant Registered Manager Childrens Residential Home Salary & BenefitsSalary: £54,000 per annumBonus: Up to £6,000 per annum (performance-related)Working Hours: 40 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, 9:00am 5:00pmHoliday Entitlement: 28 days per year, inclusive of public and bank holidaysAbout the Role We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Registered Manager to support the leadership of a childrens residential home. You will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring high-quality care, safeguarding, and full compliance with Ofsted and Childrens Home Regulations. Your focus will be on providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where children and young people can thrive, while supporting the Registered Manager in leading and developing a skilled staff team. Key Responsibilities Children & Young PeopleEnsure the home meets all Ofsted and regulatory requirementsSafeguard all children and young people and promote their welfare at all timesDeliver care in line with the Childrens Homes Regulations, quality standards, and company policiesOversee admissions, care plans, risk assessments, and reviewsWork closely with families, social workers, advocates, and other professionalsMonitor childrens progress and ensure their needs, goals, and outcomes are metSupport staff in managing challenging behaviour positivelyProvide direct care when required, including occasional shift coverStaff ManagementRecruit, induct, supervise, and develop staff in line with regulatory standardsEnsure safer recruitment checks (DBS, references, etc.) are completedProvide regular supervision, appraisals, and team meetingsManage performance, sickness, absence, and disciplinary mattersIdentify training needs and promote continuous professional developmentPromote company values and positive staff cultureQuality & ComplianceMaintain high standards across care, safeguarding, health & safety, and equalityEnsure the Statement of Purpose is followed and regularly reviewedManage inspections, audits, and actions from reviewsEnsure compliance with the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty requirementsGeneral DutiesWork within agreed budgetsTake part in on-call duties as requiredPromote the home positively within the local communityFollow all company policies, especially safeguarding and child protectionUndertake training and ongoing professional developmentPerson Specification Essential Experience & QualificationsAt least 2 years experience in childrens residential care within the last 5 yearsAt least 1 year in a management or supervisory roleLevel 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)Strong knowledge of safeguarding and regulatory requirementsAbility to lead, motivate, and manage a staff team effectivelyGood communication, organisational, and IT skillsPhysically and mentally fit to manage a residential homeFull driving licenceAdditional RequirementsWillingness to complete a Fit Person interview with OfstedCommitment to the organisations valuesWillingness to complete further training if requiredTPBN1_UKTJ
