The company has a turnover of £650million and their name is recognised within the marketplace as delivering projects to the highest quality on time and budget.\n\nDue to an internal promotion, they currently have a requirement for an Assistant Design Manager to join the Southern team. Projects are typically valued £5million through to £60million and will cover a wide range of interesting projects.\n\nThey have previously trained Site Managers who have been looking for a career change and have found this to be very successful.\n\nWith one of the best training programs in the UK and one of the lowest turnovers of staff on the South Coast, this should be seen as a long term career opportunity.\n\nIf you are looking to move away from site management and be involved with the Design aspects of construction, both pre-construction and live projects please feel free to contact me for more information.\n\nAs an Assistant Design Manager you will be trained to:\n\nManagement of the design development for packages of works.\n\nChairing regular design team meetings\n\nManagement of consultant design team.\n\nRegular liaison with client, architect, consultants and the construction teams\n\nManaging specialist sub-contractor design teams\n\nAgreement of information required schedule; Ensuring key dates achieved\n\nDealing with local authorities to achieve planning permissions\n\nReview of construction design information for buildability, compliance with contractor's proposals, employer's requirements, budget, current building legislation, etc\n\nIdentifying opportunities for value engineering opportunities where appropriate\n\nThe last Design Manager I placed is still there 9 years later.
