An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor on a major, high-profile construction project in Cardiff.

The Role – Assistant Site Manager

As Assistant Site Manager, you will support the Site Manager and Senior Site Team in delivering a complex, multi-million-pound construction project to the highest standards of quality, safety, and programme performance.

You will play a key role in coordinating subcontractors, maintaining site standards, and ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the Site Manager in the day-to-day running of the site

*

Supervising subcontractors and direct labour on site

*

Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme and quality standards

*

Maintaining strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations

*

Conducting inductions, toolbox talks, and site inspections

*

Assisting with progress reporting and coordination meetings

*

Ensuring high standards of housekeeping and compliance

Requirements:

*

Experience working for a main contractor in an Assistant Site Manager or Site Supervisor capacity

*

Experience on large-scale commercial, mixed-use, or complex build projects

*

Strong understanding of construction processes and sequencing

*

SMSTS or SSSTS (SMSTS preferred)

*

CSCS Card (Black or Gold preferred)

*

First Aid at Work (desirable)

*

Strong organisational and communication skills
