Assistant Vice President, Finance Control (12 Month FTC) Join MUFG, a leading global financial services group, to drive financial reporting and control excellence across the organization. Main Purpose of the Team The Financial Reporting and Accounting Control Team (FRC) is responsible for central reconciliation of finance systems to upstream sources, control of internal processes and required IFRS and JGAAP reporting for MUFG Securities EMEA Plc and MUFG Securities (Europe) N.V. Key Responsibilities
Oversee finance function control and governance to meet firm standards. Revenues – support revenue team in month‑end close and provide insight into PL and BS impact of financial instruments. Costs – support cost team in month‑end close and provide insight into cost‑plus and expense recharge mechanisms. Balance Sheet – conduct third‑party based balance sheet substantiation. Reporting – provide timely, accurate financial reporting with value‑add analysis, develop and automate processes using BI tools, communicate with trading desks, risk teams, product control and Finance. External Audit – engage with auditors throughout audit cycle, including interim procedures, controls review and year‑end substantive testing. Process & Training – maintain detailed process notes, support cross‑training and knowledge sharing, rotate within team for product exposure. Ad‑hoc tasks as required.
General Responsibilities
Projects – provide input into design, specification and implementation of systems and controls to enhance department processes. New Products & Complex Transactions – participate in approval and implementation ensuring proper bookings and cash control. Governance – lead compliance with governance standards.
Skills and Experience
Preferred: Big‑4 trained; ACA/ACCA qualified or newly qualified (part‑qualified considered). Experience with financial instruments (preferred). Solid knowledge of IFRS. Familiarity with PRA/FCA reporting (preferred). Proficiency handling large volumes of complex data. Advanced Excel skills and competent Microsoft Office user.
