Associate Building Surveyor - Client & Growth Focus (RICS Qualified)
Salary: up to £100k basic Location: City of London / Hybrid

This is a senior Building Surveyor position with a well-established group operating across development and main contracting. They want someone credible, commercial and confident - a surveyor who can advise clients, win work, and help grow the contracting side of the business.

The opportunity
This is an autonomous, Associate‑level role combining:
Hands‑on building surveying across a live portfolio and projects Senior client engagement and relationship management Business development and fee‑generating activity Cross‑selling professional services into the main contracting armYou'll be trusted to represent the business externally and help drive revenue, while still staying close to the technical detail.
What you'll be doing
Surveying and advising across commercial and residential assets Leading technical due diligence, condition surveys and compliance advice Providing strategic input on remediation, refurbishment and re‑cladding projects Advising clients on BSR compliance, fire safety and Building Safety Act requirements Acting as a senior client‑facing contact - trusted, polished and credible Winning work, supporting bids, and contributing to fee proposals Identifying opportunities to cross‑sell into the contracting division Working directly with Directors to help shape growth and strategyThis is not a passive service role - you'll be expected to engage, influence and lead.
What we're looking for
RICS qualified Building Surveyor Typically 10+ years post‑qualification experience (guide, not a blocker) Strong track record in client‑facing roles Comfortable winning work and engaging in fee discussions Proven experience with re‑cladding projects and BSR / Building Safety Act matters Commercial mindset with the confidence to spot and create opportunities Polished, credible and able to operate at senior client level Self‑starting, autonomous and motivated to make a markWhy this role stands out
