Our client, a prominent international law firm, is seeking a Corporate M&A & ECM Associate to join its London-based Corporate Finance group. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-value corporate transactions involving listed companies and capital markets participants, supporting clients on complex matters across both the UK and international markets.


The corporate practice is a core component of the firm’s broader transactional platform and is recognized for advising on large-scale public company transactions and capital markets activity.


Lawyers in this group regularly advise listed corporates, investment banks and financial intermediaries, handling sophisticated deals involving both domestic and cross-border elements.


The Role

The successful candidate will be involved in a range of corporate finance and public company transactions, working alongside experienced partners and senior lawyers across multiple sectors.


Key areas of work may include:

  • Advising on initial public offerings and secondary equity raisings.
  • Supporting clients on public company takeovers and strategic acquisitions.
  • Assisting listed businesses and their boards with ongoing corporate governance and regulatory obligations.
  • Providing guidance on UK capital markets regulations, including regimes applicable to publicly traded companies.
  • Working on cross-border corporate transactions involving multiple jurisdictions and coordinating with international counsel where required.


This position offers exposure to fast-paced deal work within the public markets, with opportunities to build strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.


Candidate Profile

  • England & Wales qualified lawyer.
  • 4-7 PQE with experience in equity capital markets and public company transactions.
  • Exposure to public M&A or takeover work would be advantageous.
  • Background at a recognized City or international firm is preferred.
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills combined with commercial awareness.
  • Able to operate effectively within a collaborative team environment while managing competing priorities.
