The business combines strategic planning, project & development management, and cost management expertise to support a broad range of clients through every stage of the development lifecycle. Their collaborative approach ensures clients receive clear, commercially astute advice on everything from large residential and co-living schemes to mixed-use regeneration, higher-education campuses, and luxury hotel developments.
The Opportunity
We are supporting the firm in its search for an experienced Associate / Director Quantity Surveyor to join the cost management team. This is a key client-facing role, ideal for someone who thrives on variety and complexity, with responsibility for leading cost strategy and commercial oversight across a range of high-profile projects.
What You’ll Do
Lead and deliver comprehensive cost management services across a diverse portfolio of high-value projects, typically ranging from £10m to £200m+.
Provide commercial insight and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle, including procurement strategy, risk management, cost planning, and final accounts.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, presenting findings and recommendations clearly and confidently.
Work collaboratively with planning, project, and development management colleagues to ensure seamless delivery on multi-disciplinary schemes.
Mentor and develop junior members of the cost team, shaping the next of talent.
Project Insight
The consultancy works on a variety of high-profile and complex assignments, including:
Large-scale residential and mixed-use developments, including schemes valued at £85m to £200m, incorporating build-to-rent, co-living, and luxury branded hotels.
High-end residential and co-living schemes up to 568 units, spanning multiple UK locations.
Multi-unit build-to-rent projects, with values up to £85m, including schemes under development in Leeds, Liverpool, and Birmingham.
Luxury hotel developments, including five-star schemes with integrated residential components.
Strategic multi-scheme pipelines for repeat developers, delivering coordinated advice across several regional locations simultaneously.
What We’re Looking For
Qualified Quantity Surveyor (MRICS or equivalent) with proven consultancy experience.
Extensive experience managing high-value, complex projects from inception to completion.
Strong knowledge of JCT, NEC, or bespoke contracts and commercial reporting.
Expertise in cost planning, tender analysis, procurement, risk management, value engineering, and final account settlement.
Excellent client-facing skills and ability to influence at senior/executive level.
Leadership experience mentoring junior QS staff and managing multi-project teams.
Strong commercial awareness, proactive problem-solving, and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
