We are recruiting for an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our client’s Building Environments team in their Manchester office. This role offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in a varied portfolio of engaging and technically challenging projects across the UK and internationally. It is well suited to an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to take on greater technical, commercial and leadership responsibility within a collaborative, multidisciplinary consultancy. The team delivers cutting edge building services solutions that prioritise efficient use of materials, energy and natural resources. Working within a holistic, multidisciplinary design environment, engineers collaborate closely with sustainability, physics, façade, lighting and technology specialists to push the boundaries of low carbon and high performance building design across electrical, mechanical and public health disciplines. As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you will be a key part of a close knit team providing high quality design engineering services across a wide range of projects. You will take ownership of delivering sustainable and innovative electrical design solutions for projects led from the Manchester office, while also contributing to international work within the wider portfolio. Responsibilities and experience * Contribute to the leadership of the electrical team, taking a project leadership role where required * Communicate directly with clients, providing innovative design solutions and managing expectations * Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, architects and developers * Prepare technical and financial proposals for new work * Manage the workload and coordination of engineers and technicians * Prepare technical specifications and oversee design documentation * Monitor project financial performance, including resourcing, expenditure and programme management * Undertake detailed electrical building services design and calculations using Revit and Amtech * Deliver high quality, performance led designs with an understanding of embodied carbon * Embrace new technologies to improve building performance and support net zero carbon targets by 2030 * Ensure projects are delivered to an excellent standard, within agreed deadlines and budgets * Collaborate effectively across disciplines and contribute to internal discussions, events and seminars * Mentor and support junior team members, with potential to progress into an early line management role * Demonstrate extensive electrical design experience within an MEP consultancy environment * Bring experience working across multiple sectors, ideally on large scale or complex projects * Show strong interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships * Hold professional registration, or be working towards it, with CIBSE, IET or a similar body * Maintain a solid understanding of other building services disciplines alongside an electrical specialism * Be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline * Be confident using industry standard software such as Revit and Amtech, with the ability to learn new tools What’s on offer * Competitive salary with 10 percent car allowance and discretionary bonus * 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with flexible holiday options * Hybrid working arrangements * Generous pension scheme, life assurance and income protection * Flexible benefits including cycle to work scheme, dental, optical, travel insurance and corporate discounts * Enhanced parental leave policies * Ongoing learning, development and funded professional memberships * Comprehensive wellbeing support and employee assistance programme * Opportunities to contribute to community and skills sharing initiatives
