We are currently partnered with one of the world's leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancies, as they look to add an Associate Fire Engineer to their divisions throughout the UK, with locations including Glasgow, Bristol, Leeds, Epsom, London, Derby and beyond.\n\nYou will be joining this consultancy's Building Design Practice are looking to appoint a Fire Engineer who is looking to further develop their career within a forward-thinking multi sector practice. This opportunity will involve working as part of a practice of Design professionals delivering fire engineering design solutions to clients across a wide variety of sectors, including Cities & Development, Commercial, Energy, Residential and Transportation.\n\nAs an Associate Fire Engineer, you will take responsibility for your own projects but also work collaboratively with other senior team members to develop the team and strengthen technical capability.\n\nYour purpose: \n\nWork in a range of sectors from residential buildings through to rail transportation or new energy facilities.\nManage multiple engineering projects from inception through to delivery in support of fire safety standards and codes while also supporting junior team members.\nSupport the delivery of project work and keeping track of evolving project milestones and budgets.\nKeep up to date with regulations and legislation.\nSupport the development of fire strategies.\nAssess fire related risks in projects and working collaboratively to mitigate where possible.\nReview and comment on the quality of fire safety related installations.\nUndertake tenders for new work and develop client relationships to develop potential work opportunities.\nPrepare reports, take part in design team meetings, and liaise with client representatives as required.\nSupport junior team members and act as technical reviewer on project submissions. \n\nWhat you can bring:\n\nEngineering degree, preferably fire engineering or alternatively a post graduate qualification in fire engineering (Applicants with different backgrounds also considered).\n10+ years in fire engineering roles including roles outside of consultancy.\nStrong experience working with multiple of fire standards including but not limited to BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992, EN45545.\nDemonstrate a strong record of successfully delivering fire strategies.\nFire modelling experience will be beneficial.\nWorking towards chartered fire engineer status.\nAbility to obtain security clearance, ideally without caveats would be highly beneficial.\nA flexible approach to the working environment and willingness to travel will be a positive advantage.\nGood commercial awareness and customer focused.\nAbility to collate information and have a clear and structured approach to report writing.
