Associate Mechanical Consultant (MEP)We are seeking to employ an Associate Mechanical Consultant to be based in our London office.Hilson Moran are interdisciplinary consultants, engineers and advisors, applying progressive design thinking to shape the environments we live in. We provide a full range of engineering services, exciting innovation and design solutions on a full range of projects from across our network of offices in the UK.Our recently refurbished London office the Living Lab - offers a direct link to clients, the ability to further develop our existing relationships and to pursue future opportunities across the city. We also have full view of some of our most iconic designs, including 20 Fenchurch Street the Walkie Talkie and 30 St Marys Axe The Gherkin from our river café space.As part of our long-term succession planning, we are seeking a mechanically biased Associate Mechanical Consultant to join our London team. For the right individual, this role offers a clear, unencumbered pathway to Project Director level and beyond, with genuine opportunity and no glass ceiling.Were looking for someone who brings strong mechanical engineering expertise and a proven ability to deliver projects across a variety of sectors. Equally important is the mindset: client-focused, proactive, accountable, commercially astute, and consistently willing to go the extra mile. You will take ownership of project delivery, guide teams, and contribute meaningfully to the continued evolution of our design, technical, and operational standards.Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Lead mechanical design and project delivery from concept through completion.Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary project teams, both internally and externally.Take responsibility for project performance, programme, quality, and commercial outcomes.Apply commercial awareness to ensure efficient delivery, accurate forecasting, fee management, and value for clients.Provide exceptional client care, ensuring strong, long-lasting relationships.Support fee proposals, bids, and project mobilisation activities when required.Contribute to company initiatives across design quality, technical development, and operational improvements.Mentor and support junior engineers to help develop next-generation talent.Wed like to hear from you if you have:Background & Qualifications:Strong track record of delivering mechanical / MEP projects within a consultancy environment.Proven experience managing teams and taking accountability for project outcomes.Commercial awareness, with an understanding of project finance, profitability, and effective resource management.Ambitious and motivated, with a clear aspiration to progress into senior project leadership and director-level roles.Skills:Confident communicator with excellent client-facing and relationship-building skills.Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.Brings energy, initiative, and a genuine client-first attitude.Benefits:Enhanced annual leave entitlement of 25 days per annum, plus public holidays.
