We are working on behalf of a well-established and growing structural engineering consultancy to recruit an Associate Structural Engineer for their office in Gloucester.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior structural engineer looking to take the next step into an Associate role, combining hands-on technical delivery with team leadership, client engagement, and business development.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and delivering a broad range of structural engineering projects across sectors including residential, commercial, and industrial developments. You will be responsible for overseeing projects from concept through to completion while supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of structural engineering projects
Manage project teams, including engineers and technicians
Undertake and review structural calculations and designs in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber
Act as a primary point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors
Review technical reports, drawings, and specifications
Ensure compliance with UK design standards and regulations
Contribute to work-winning, bids, and the ongoing growth of the business
Candidate Requirements
Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
Chartered or close to Chartered status (IStructE or ICE preferred)
Extensive experience within a UK structural engineering consultancy
Strong technical background across common construction materials
Proven ability to lead projects and manage teams
Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
Commercially aware and motivated to progress within a consultancy environment
