Associate / Associate Director - Electrical Design (Critical Infrastructure)

I'm working with a leading global engineering and design consultancy who are looking to appoint an Associate or Associate Director Electrical Engineer into their Bristol Building Design team.
This organisation is widely recognised for delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure and energy projects across the UK and internationally. With a strong pipeline across defence, energy, aviation, healthcare, and major commercial developments, they offer the opportunity to play a key role in shaping technically challenging and high-impact schemes.
This position is ideal for someone looking to step into a senior leadership role, combining technical excellence, project oversight, and client-facing responsibility.
The Role
You'll take a leading role in the delivery and direction of electrical design across major projects, particularly within critical infrastructure and highly regulated environments.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the design and delivery of LV & MV electrical systems across complex projects
Providing technical leadership on renewable energy solutions (PV, BESS, grid integration)
Overseeing and reviewing detailed design calculations and outputs
Acting as a technical authority within project teams
Driving collaboration with multidisciplinary and BIM teams (Revit environment)
Leading client engagement, presentations, and stakeholder coordination
Overseeing project delivery, ensuring alignment with programme, cost, and quality targets
Mentoring and developing junior and mid-level engineers
Supporting wider business objectives, including work winning and bid contributionsAbout You
Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Chartered Engineer (CIBSE or IET)
Strong background within a consultancy or contractor design environment
Proven experience delivering complex building services or critical infrastructure projects
Expertise in energy systems, decarbonisation, PV and BESS technologies
Strong understanding of technical standards and regulatory requirements
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and build client relationships
Commercial awareness with experience contributing to bids or business developmentWhat's on Offer
