The Company
A well-established business operating within sustainable asset management and waste services is looking to appoint an Assistant Warehouse Manager to support the day-to-day running of its warehouse operation.
This role is ideal for a driven warehouse professional who enjoys being hands-on, supporting teams on the floor, and contributing to continuous improvement within an operational environment that prioritises safety, compliance, and sustainability.
The Role
Reporting into the Warehouse Manager, you will play a key part in supporting daily warehouse activity, ensuring operations run safely, efficiently, and in line with service expectations.
You’ll act as a visible leader on shift, supporting the management of people, processes, and performance, while helping to embed best practice as the operation continues to develop.
Key Responsibilities
·       Support the day-to-day management of warehouse operations
·       Lead, motivate, and support warehouse operatives on shift
·       Maintain a strong presence on the warehouse floor, leading by example
·       Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in line with H&S procedures
·       Support stock control, material handling, and despatch activity
·       Assist with labour planning and daily resource allocation
·       Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and workflow
·       Support compliance with environmental, waste, and sustainability standards
·       Step in for the Warehouse Manager as required
About You
·       Experience within a warehouse, logistics, recycling, waste, or asset management environment
·       Ready to step into, or already operating in, a supervisory or assistant management role
·       Confident supporting and motivating teams in a fast-paced operational setting
·       Hands-on, practical approach with a strong focus on safety and compliance
·       Process-driven mindset with an interest in continuous improvement
·       Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
