Sizewell C will create a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for at least 60 years. It will be built next to Sizewell B, which has been operational since 1995 and has avoided over 76 million tonnes of carbon emissions.
This is a hybrid role with 1-2 days per week based out of our Bristol (Aztec West) office.
What you'll be doing
- Operate effectively within a complex matrix organisation
- Lead and define the necessary Quality Assurance and Governance processes
- Influence stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
- Define Quality Assurance requirements within functional areas, including mobilising and procuring external expertise when needed
- Contribute to overall strategy as a key stakeholder
- Serve as an expert advisor in assurance and governance
- Manage interfaces with Customer, Internal, IP, and Stakeholder quality assurance and governance
- Submit performance reports, highlighting deviations, corrective actions, and escalation of issues
- Provide independent quality escalation points for the programme team
- Manage third-party suppliers to meet programme objectives
- Participate in the business PM Forum
- Support other functional areas with quality input and contract evaluation
- Manage stakeholder relationships considering their influence and interests
- Host and chair assurance and governance reviews at key programme points
- Ensure industry and professional standards are adopted and implemented
- Develop and mentor staff, ensuring succession planning
Who we're looking for
- Diploma in Quality Management or degree qualification
- Lead Auditor certification to ISO 9001
- Chartered membership in a relevant professional body, preferably CQI
- Natural leadership qualities to inspire and motivate teams
- Experience managing large quality teams, major projects, and budgets, ideally in regulated industries
- Proven track record of quality management in engineering or project delivery environments
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 19443:2018, with risk management understanding
- Ability to obtain security clearance
