Job Description

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit an Assurance Officer for a 3 month contract with potential extension on a rate of £28.15/hour (PAYE). This role will be remote based.

Responsibilities

- Contributing to the procurement process to award suppliers including development of the Information Governance & Assurance elements of specifications and statement of requirements

- Identifying Information Governance and assurance requirements for each program / new initiative

- Leading the development of Information Governance & assurance documents

- Working with a range of stakeholders including Information Governance Leads and DPOs in both national and territorial Boards to seek approval of Information Governance arrangements and documentation

Essential Skills:

- Experience working with 3rd party vendors for contract management & GDPR assurances.

- Considerable experience of developing information governance and assurance documentation e.g. Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA)

- Proven expertise in the practical implementation and delivery of data protection and information governance legislation requirements

- Extensive knowledge of information governance and data protection, including legislative issues.

- Understanding legislative compliance for public sector organizations regarding data protection legislation.

- Practitioner certification within Data Protection/UK GDPR or extensive equivalent experience and knowledge in relevant area

- Experience of coordinating and facilitating information governance and assurance processes

- Experience of using information for management purposes and in setting and monitoring targets and performance indicators

- Experience of successfully working with a wide range of groups to achieve a common aim, where individuals or groups may be challenging, change resistant, antagonistic or even hostile.

- Ability to rapidly assimilate significant volumes of complex information.

- Strong understanding of regulatory environment.

- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and establish strong partnership working demonstrating a professional understanding of the needs and motivations of all stakeholders

- Adopts a resilient approach in managing projects in adverse or challenging environments

Desirable Skills:

- Experience of project management and evidenced application of methodologies and techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects Experience of problem solving and change management with ability to make judgements across a wide range of projects

- Experience working with national transformational projects

- Experience of collaborative working with organisations

- Experience of chairing meetings and facilitating workshops
