Audio Visual Engineer - £35,000 to £40,000 Location: Field-based across London, the Home Counties, and Southern EnglandWe are working in partnership with a respected and forward-thinking AV Smart Home Automation company that specialises in delivering bespoke, high-end residential systems. With projects spanning luxury homes throughout the South of England, they are now looking to bring an experienced Audio Visual Engineer into their growing team.This is an exciting opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional technical service, enjoys working in premium residential environments, and is confident taking ownership of AV installations from start to finish.The Role You'll be part of a field-based team responsible for the installation, commissioning and servicing of fully integrated AV, lighting, and network systems in residential properties. Projects often include multi-room audio, home cinema, lighting and blind control, CCTV, security systems, and structured data networks.Working closely with project managers and internal teams, you'll ensure high standards of delivery, provide technical insight, and build strong relationships with clients.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall and commission a range of AV and smart home systems (including Control4, Lutron, Rako, Ubiquiti, Draytek)Carry out diagnostics and service visits on completed systemsBuild and dress AV racks to a high standardInterpret and work from technical drawings and wiring schematicsMaintain accurate documentation and support customer handoversRepresent the company professionally on-site and deliver outstanding client serviceWhat We're Looking ForAt least 2 years' experience in residential AV installationCertified Control4 Installer (minimum Level 2)Hands-on experience with Lutron, Rako, and Control4 lighting control systemsProficient in configuring residential networks (Ubiquiti, Draytek preferred)Good understanding of system schematics and cabling standardsComfortable using power tools and test equipmentStrong communication skills and a professional attitudeA full UK driving licence (held for at least 12 months)Willing to travel daily and occasionally stay away overnightDesirable but not essentialExperience with Mikrotik, Araknis or Pakedge equipmentKnowledge of integrated systems (HVAC, lighting, security, etc.)Ability to read CAD and construction drawingsWhat's On OfferCompetitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 - Dependent on experience28 days annual leave including bank holidaysCompany van and fuel card (business use)Laptop, tools and uniform providedOngoing training and developmentCompany pension scheme and life insuranceOvernight expenses and allowances when requiredThis is a great opportunity to join a well-established, professional AV team working on some of the UK's most prestigious residential projects.
