As part of their growing China & East Asia Business Desk, they are seeking a Japanese-speaking Audit Assistant Manager with solid UK audit experience.

The Role You will: Lead and manage audit engagements for a portfolio of Japan and wider East Asialinked clients (including UK subsidiaries of international groups and fast-growing businesses).

Plan and deliver audits under UK auditing standards, overseeing on-site/remote fieldwork and reviewing work prepared by Seniors and juniors.

Review financial statements under UK GAAP (and IFRS where applicable) and address complex areas such as revenue, group reporting, going concern and estimates.

Act as day-to-day contact for Japanese and UK stakeholders, using your Japanese language skills to liaise with overseas parent companies and finance teams.

Work closely with tax and advisory teams and contribute to refining audit processes within the international/East Asia desk.

Candidate Profile Strong external audit background in an accountancy practice or professional services firm.

Experience with SMEs, owner-managed businesses and/or international groups .

Solid knowledge of UK GAAP and UK auditing standards (IFRS exposure beneficial).

Fluent or highly proficient in Japanese (spoken and written); able to explain complex issues clearly to non-UK stakeholders.

ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent).

Organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing multiple engagements in a fast-paced, international environment.
