Audit Manager – Independent Firm Top 100 Firm Your new company Hays is working with an independent firm of Chartered Accountants in East London, established over 70 years ago and continuing to grow organically. The firm serves a diverse client base across multiple sectors, with a strong focus on owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs, and UK subsidiaries of large international groups. Your new role As Audit Manager, you will manage a portfolio of audit and accountancy assignments, lead and develop members of the Audit team, and play a key role in business development.

You’ll attend networking events, contribute to pitches, and work closely with Partners to drive growth and success. Key responsibilities include: Managing a portfolio of audit and accountancy assignments Supporting Partners and planning work Job planning and staff allocation Managing teams on assignments and mentoring trainees Liaising with clients and finance teams Business development and attending client meetings WIP and billing management Departmental responsibilities and ad-hoc issues What you'll need to succeed Ideally, ACA/ACCA qualified with strong technical competence Solid audit experience across varied clients and industries Experience in a Mid-Tier Practice is essential Proven portfolio management and team leadership skills Knowledge of UK GAAP and CaseWare experience advantageous.
