A well-established and growing accountancy practice in the North West is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Manager to join its Liverpool office, offering a salary of circa £60,000. This is a key hire for the firm, offering genuine short-term progression to Responsible Individual (RI) status.This role will suit someone who is technically strong but also commercially aware, confident in front of clients, and keen to play a visible role in developing both relationships and the wider audit offering. You will work closely with the senior leadership team, with a clear pathway to stepping into a leadership position within the audit function.Audit Manager Responsibilities:Manage and deliver audit assignments from planning through to completionAct as the primary point of contact for a varied client portfolio, including SMEs, owner-managed businesses, professional practices and not-for-profit organisationsLead, coach and develop a team of 3-4 staff membersTake an active role in business development activities, including:Supporting pitches and tender processesIdentifying growth opportunities within existing client relationshipsBuilding your internal profile and contributing commercially to the firmSupport on ad hoc projects, including due diligence and technical accounting mattersContribute to the firm's Audit Quality Control processes and uphold high audit standardsAudit Manager Attributes:ACA or ACCA qualifiedCurrently operating at Audit Manager level within a UK practice environmentStrong technical knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standardsProven ability to manage multiple audits and deadlines simultaneouslyConfident communicator with strong client-facing skillsCommercially minded with an interest in developing business relationshipsHigh attention to detail and commitment to audit qualityExperience with SRA Accounts Rules Reviews is advantageous but not essentialAudit Manager Benefits:Clear and realistic progression route to RI status in the short termOpportunity to play a key role in shaping and leading the audit functionExposure to a diverse and interesting client base across SME and not-for-profit sectorsSupportive leadership team with a collaborative working environmentGenuine autonomy and visibility within the firmIf you are an Audit Manager or Assistant Manager looking for a role with real progression, leadership exposure and the chance to make a tangible impact, this opportunity offers exactly that.
