Description

We are looking for an Audit Senior Manager/RI (designate) to manage high-quality audits, ensure technical compliance (UK GAAP, IFRS), lead and mentor teams, manage client relationships, and drive business development.

In time this individual will act as the legally authorised signatory for audit reports (Responsible Individual status) and ultimately, have an opportunity to progress towards Partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit leadership: Plan, execute, and review audits, ensuring timely delivery, technical excellence, and quality.
  • Technical oversight: Apply knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, FRS 102, and relevant regulations; provide technical guidance and final review of audit files.
  • Team management: Mentor, coach, and develop audit seniors and staff; manage workflow, performance, and career progression.
  • Client management: Act as a primary contact for key client contacts, build strong relationships, and identify opportunities for added value.
  • Risk and compliance: Ensure adherence to professional standards, manage engagement profitability, and oversee quality control.
  • Innovation: Driving adoption of new audit approaches and methodologies to improve audit efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Business development: Contribute to firm growth through identifying new leads, participating in tenders, and cross-selling services.

In addition:

  • Supporting Partners with the management of broad client portfolios.
  • Undertaking pre and post-audit meetings with Partner support.
  • Ensure that timescales and deadlines are met in line with audit plans and accounts submissions.
  • Financial management of portfolio.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • ACA/ACCA Qualified (or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Strong technical grounding in UK GAAP, IFRS, FRS 102.
  • Proven leadership, people management, and client relationship skills.
  • Commercial awareness, strategic thinking, and ability to operate at senior level.
  • Registered Responsible Individual (RI) status not essential, however we will want to understand the potential for achieving this.
  • Experience managing a substantial audit portfolio and team.
  • Experience of both accounts preparation and Corporate Tax.
