Auto-Electrician – Plant Machinery (Hemel Hempstead)

NEOS Engineering is recruiting on behalf of a busy and well-established plant maintenance company based near Watford. They are seeking a skilled and flexible Hybrid Auto-Electrician to join their team, working both in the workshop and on customer sites.

As a Hybrid Auto-Electrician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems on a variety of plant machinery. This role combines workshop-based work with on-site service, providing variety and hands-on experience with modern and traditional plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic systems on plant machinery

• Carry out fault-finding on hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic systems

• Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment

• Support workshop and on-site teams to ensure machinery is operational and safe

• Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues to management

• Ensure all work is carried out safely, following company procedures and health & safety regulations

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate clearly with management

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an auto-electrician, preferably with plant or construction machinery

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and diagnostics

• Ability to work independently on-site and as part of a workshop team

• NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is desirable

• Own tools suitable for the role

• Flexible, reliable, and adaptable to changing work priorities

• Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
