Job Description

We are looking for a proactive, technically minded Automation Technician / Specialist to step into an established role focused on automated sample preparation. You will help strengthen and expand this capability, ensuring automation is effectively integrated as a core part of our operational workflow. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the continued development and optimisation of automation technologies that enhance efficiency, quality, and innovation across our laboratory processes.

The successful candidate will support the development, operation, and continuous improvement of automated sample preparation processes. You will work hands-on with automated platforms, collaborate closely with operational teams, and contribute to shaping best practices within a growing area of the business.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

· Operating and maintaining the automated sample pipetting platform to ensure accurate and efficient sample processing.

· Working closely with operational teams to coordinate and schedule sample workflows.

· Maintaining accurate records in full compliance with GLP requirements.

· Providing troubleshooting support to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.

· Contributing to process optimisation initiatives, including potential involvement in method development and programming on automated systems.

Skills, Education & Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who brings both technical capability and a passion for innovation:

· Self-motivated, with the ability to use initiative to advance automated sample preparation processes.

· Enthusiastic about automation and able to advocate for its value to help embed new technologies across teams.

· Experience with the Hamilton STAR platform—particularly method programming—would be highly advantageous.

· Previous experience working within a GxP-regulated environment is desirable.
