A global, product-led technology company is hiring a Automation Tester to join its UK-based engineering team.

The organisation builds and operates large-scale, consumer-facing platforms used at significant scale. Their systems combine cloud-native services, distributed architectures, and edge-based software, running in highly available, production-critical environments.

As an Automation Test Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of a complex software platform. You’ll work closely with software engineers, product teams, and other QA professionals to design, build, and maintain automated test solutions across multiple layers of the system.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Designing and maintaining automated test frameworks, primarily using Python
• Writing automated tests across APIs, services, and backend systems
• Contributing to integration, system, and end-to-end testing strategies
• Validating complex workflows across distributed and cloud-based systems
• Supporting testing of performance, reliability, and failure scenarios
• Collaborating with engineers to improve testability and overall system quality
• Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support fast, safe releases

Technology Environment

• Languages: Python (primary)
• Testing: API, integration, and end-to-end automation
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions or similar
• APIs: REST / GraphQL
• Infrastructure: Containerised and cloud-native systems

They’re open to different backgrounds and levels of experience, but ideal candidates will bring a combination of:

• Strong experience building and maintaining automated test suites
• Solid Python skills for test automation and tooling
• Experience testing APIs and backend services
• Understanding of testing within distributed or cloud-based systems
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates
• A quality-first mindset with the confidence to challenge assumptions
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with engineers
