Role Description

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Bristol. The role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud solutions using Amazon Web Services to support Durell Software's platforms and infrastructure. Responsibilities include managing cloud infrastructure, optimizing resource usage, resolving issues, and ensuring robust security practices. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve system scalability, reliability, and performance is a key aspect of the role. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing secure, scalable and cost-effective infrastructure on Amazon Web Services. Key duties will include managing AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS), monitoring system performance, and ensuring compliance. 


Key Duties and Responsibilities

•\tInfrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.

•\tAutomation: Write code to automate infrastructure management and data retention.

•\tSecurity & Compliance: Implement security best practices, manage Identity and Access Management (IAM), and maintain compliance standards.

•\tMonitoring & Optimization: Monitor system performance using CloudWatch and optimize resources for cost-efficiency.

•\tDevOps: Implement CI/CD pipelines.


Qualifications

•\tProficiency in Cloud Computing and Infrastructure management

•\tExperience working with Windows environments utilizing Internet Information Services from AWS AMI’s 

•\tCompetency in managing and optimizing Databases

•\tStrong problem-solving and analytical skills

•\tAbility to work effectively in a team and in an on-site environment

•\tPrevious experience with AWS services and certifications is essential

•\tBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred


Technical requirements 

•\t5+ years of experience AWS cloud management, with a strong focus on automated testing.

•\tExperience in Information Security – with a particular focus on Cloud Security Alliance’s Cloud Control Matrix (CSA CCM) and best practices put forward by the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) that relate to network security. •\tUnderstanding of Agile and software development processes.

•\tStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.

•\tExperience in the insurance technology industry is not a requirement but it will help!
