Job Description
The AWS Solution Architect is a key member of the Presales Solutions team responsible for providing business leadership and strategic technical direction for customers. They will work to build and maintain broad relationships internally and externally within AWS, coach, and guide TEKsystems Global Services Sales, Practice & Delivery on strategy and AWS solutions and advise a team of extended partners throughout the sales process. They are responsible for solutioning and implementing a broad strategy for earning customer acceptance and service implementation. The AWS Solution Architect will be the primary driver for identifying, scoping, and creating solutions/proposals that encompass technical approach, best practice, implementation, team structure, pricing and contracts. They work with all appropriate TEKsystems Global Services and AWS partners (Executives, Solution Architects, Business Development, Partners, ProServe) to support customer interests and will understand how to strongly advocate for their customer and balance that with the business needs of TEKsystems.
The AWS Solution Architect shows the ability to think strategically and long term about the needs of global businesses, and their financial implications. They have deep understanding of digital transformation of complex legacy IT environments to new digital environments – focussing on Data Modernisation and AI/ML to solve enterprise IT challenges. The knowledge of IoT, DevOps, Application Modernization to solve complex process industry challenges will be an advantage. Understanding of the broad AWS ecosystem and partner requirements makes them stand out from other Solution peers.
The AWS Solution Architect will be seen as a subject matter expert (SME) and deliver technical webinars, speak at public events, and internally with cross functional teams.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field.
Minimum 8+ years’ experience in Information Technology and/or Professional Services required; 12+ years
Minimum 5+ years’ hands on experience in a professional services organization; 5+ years in client facing Presales/Solution Architect role interfacing with business and technology executives
Minimum 5+ years’ hands on experience with AWS Cloud (IAaS, PaaS, SaaS) and architecture models.
Proven experience in designing and deploying data solutions, data architectures on AWS, with hands-on
expertise in services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Athena and Kinesis.
Desirable: AI/Gen AI/ML services (e.g., SageMaker, Bedrock, Lex, Comprehend, Transcribe).
Desirable: Experience with architecting and implementing data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehousing solutions optimised for GenAI workloads.
Strong knowledge of data modelling, ETL processes, SQL, and scripting such as Python.
Experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, etc.).
Experience in implementing security standards and data governance policies within AWS environments, including encryption, access controls, and monitoring.
Understanding of MLOps and DevOps practices and infrastructure as code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform).
Certifications: valid AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Data Analytics certification .
Technical Leadership: guide development teams in adopting best practices for AWS data architectures, ensuring solutions are robust, compliant, and cost-effective.
Documentation: produce detailed architectural documentation, data flow diagrams, and operational guides for implemented solutions.
Continuous Improvement: stay abreast of AWS innovations and emerging data and GenAI technologies, recommending enhancements to existing architectures.
Demonstrated experience in developing Data Migration-Modernization Solutions and To-Be Architectures, usage of AWS MAP for multiple clients and industry verticals (eg BFSI, HCLS, TMEG, Retail etc) using AWS services/tools and ISV tools.
Experience developing effort/cost estimates, service pricing, writing statements of work, and reviewing/contributing to client contractual agreement.
Proven experience with the AWS Partner ecosystem and enabling collaboration with AWS SAs for the benefit of our organisation and customers.
Experience working with enterprise clients across the UK and Mainland Europe.
KEYS TO SUCCESS
Must have outstanding presentation and writing skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the client and TEKsystems Global Services organization.
Must have strong business and information technology acumen with the ability to communicate capabilities, gather and assess client requirements, and communicate solution and value proposition to clients.
Must have an ability to work effectively in agile and cross-functional internal teams, AWS Partner Ecosystem collaboration experience including ability to support the GTM strategy in region.
Must have strong technical understanding with the ability to build credibility with IT and Business Leadership. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Must have 2-3 years' experience in developing AWS Data Migration-Modernization practice.
Occasional travel will be required.
