The Opportunity
A well-established and growing food manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Back Shift Quality Manager to lead the quality function during evening operations at one of its key UK sites. This is a critical role ensuring that food safety, quality, and compliance standards are consistently maintained outside of core day shift hours.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Quality team on back shift, ensuring standards are upheld across production
* Ensure full compliance with Food Safety & Quality Management Systems
* Act as the on-site technical authority during back shift operations
* Monitor production activities to ensure adherence to customer, legal, and internal standards
* Support and lead internal audits, inspections, and traceability exercises
* Investigate non-conformances, complaints, and incidents, implementing effective corrective actions
* Drive a strong quality culture and continuous improvement mindset across shift teams
* Work closely with Production and Operations to resolve issues in real time
* Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of quality metrics
About You
* Experience in a Quality or Technical role within food manufacturing
* Good understanding of BRCGS standards and food safety requirements
* Experience working in a fast-paced production environment
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence operational teams
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience is advantageous
