Yonex UK is seeking a driven and creative Badminton Marketing Executive to support the continued growth of our badminton division by developing and delivering consumer-focused marketing initiatives. This role will focus on engaging players, building brand loyalty, and strengthening Yonex’s connection with the badminton community across the UK and Ireland.

Role Overview:

The Badminton Marketing & Promotion Executive supports the planning and execution of all badminton-related marketing, promotional, and player-support activities. The role works closely with internal teams, retailers, coaches, sponsored players, and national/local badminton organisations to drive brand awareness, product engagement, and sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing & Promotions:

• Assist the Marketing Manager in delivering badminton marketing activities that support annual sales and brand objectives.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external agencies, and suppliers to ensure marketing projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Plan and execute consumer demo days and promotional events with retailers, coaches, and sales personnel.
• Support trade and consumer research initiatives and provide clear reports and presentations on findings.
• Assist in the organisation and on-site delivery of trade shows, tournaments, and other badminton exhibitions.
• Conduct retailer and coach seminars, including product training and on-court play-testing sessions.
• Visit key badminton retailers to provide staff training and support during new product launches.

Player, Coach & Association Relations:

• Build and maintain effective relationships with governing bodies, county associations, clubs, and coaching networks to identify partnership and grassroots opportunities.
• Assist with the management of sponsored players and coaches, including planning annual appearance schedules and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
• Stay up to date with developments in the badminton landscape, including emerging players who may be suitable for sponsorship.
• Manage relevant budgets for players, coaches, and key opinion leaders.

Reporting & Administration:

• Maintain accurate and organised records for marketing operations and player/coach activity.
• Prepare regular reports on promotional activity, sponsored athletes, and upcoming opportunities.
• Ensure proper care and accountability for all company products and assets provided for promotional use.
• Support additional activities (e.g., stock checks, internal events) when requested by management.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Essential:

• Experience in a marketing, promotion, or field-based role (ideally within badminton).
• Strong passion for badminton and knowledge of the sport, equipment, and market.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Confident communicator with strong presentation and negotiation abilities.
• Self-starter with the ability to manage a remote workload and potential travel.
• Organised and efficient in managing multiple priorities, events, and contacts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and comfortable with CRM tools.
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel and work some weekends.

Desirable:

• Product knowledge of badminton equipment.
• Familiarity with promotional or sponsorship activities in a sports setting.
• Basic understanding of digital marketing or content creation for events.
