Accenture Strategy's UK Banking and Capital Markets business shapes the future for banks, asset & wealth managers and exchanges. The outlook for these sectors is challenging with digital transformation, regulatory scrutiny, margin pressure and the burden of legacy operating models and technology. At the same time, stakeholders of all types expect new value to be delivered – value linked to sustainability and responsibility. What You'll Work On
You can expect to be involved in a range of projects helping clients with a broad range of challenges including but not limited to:
Corporate Strategy and Business Model Design
Operating Model and Organisational Design
Cost and Productivity Transformation
M&A and post‑merger Integration
Customer Innovation and Growth
Technology and AI‑led strategy
Transformation Management and Value realisation
Executive Governance and Reporting
This will include working on a combination of discrete strategy engagements and as part of wider cross‑Accenture teams engaged on larger transformation programmes.
Key Responsibilities
As a Banking and Capital Markets Strategy Manager, you will:
Manage project workstreams or deliverables in client delivery work, leading a team to deliver effective, high‑quality work
Be responsible for the delivery of high‑quality, data‑driven recommendations that exceed client expectations and drive measurable results, leveraging corporate and growth strategy experience combined with market trends
Leverage deep industry knowledge and market trends to shape client strategies, ensuring long‑term business success
Apply innovation and data‑driven techniques
Manage and cultivate strong day‑to‑day relationships with client project leads; present to senior clients to validate analysis and share recommendations
Coach team members and lead them to deliver their best performance aligned to project and professional growth objectives
Contribute to developing offerings, assets, capabilities and relevant thought leadership as well as business development and sales efforts
Collaborate across Accenture, fostering relationships with different teams to support end‑to‑end client delivery
Qualifications
We are looking for experience in the following areas:
5‑7 years’ relevant experience in corporate and growth strategy development; prior management consulting experience is a plus
Excellent understanding of how Banking and Capital Markets clients operate including products, players, value chains, business models, operating models, industry trends and challenges and regulatory frameworks
Functional knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
Corporate and Business Strategy
Helping our clients with Go to market strategy design, including portfolios and product offerings assessment, divestments decisions, offerings expansion, booking model design and implementation
Operating Model Strategy and Transformation: helping our clients to establish new mindsets and structures that drive long‑term value aligned to their strategic direction
Solving for profitability and enterprise value by helping our clients to reimagine value chains and offerings
Exception strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills
People management experience, including coaching
Client management experience
Effective communication skills, both written and oral; ability to present with confidence, empathy and deliver difficult messages; fluency in English
Comfort with working on difficult issues where there can be no definitive right answer. Demonstrate the ability to provide the client with what they need, not just what they ask
An interest in technology and data and knowledge of innovation and how to apply it to creatively shape new corporate and growth solutions
Bachelor’s degree with strong academic record. An advanced degree or MBA is a plus but not essential
Set Yourself Apart
Proven history of working on strategic projects in a top tier consulting firm or internal corporate strategy team
Innovative perspectives on the financial markets and wider Banking and Capital Markets landscape
Comfort operating at the intersection of business and technology
Experience with staff development and ability to mentor junior practitioners
Proven presentation skills and confidence to articulate complex problems and solutions
