Duties and responsibilities related to the Barback - Flexi Hours role
Support bartenders by ensuring the bar is fully stocked with beverages, garnishes, glassware and essential supplies throughout service.
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic bar environment by managing spills, clearing surfaces and following cleaning routines during and after shifts.
Prepare garnishes, refill ice bins and restock fridges to ensure smooth and uninterrupted bar operations.
Monitor stock levels proactively and communicate shortages or replenishment needs to the bar team to avoid service delays.
Assist with washing, polishing and rotating glassware to ensure bartenders always have the tools they need.
Help with basic drink preparation or ingredient retrieval during busy periods to support efficient service.
Manage waste responsibly by emptying bins, recycling appropriately and keeping storage areas tidy and safe.
Collaborate closely with bartenders and servers to maintain a seamless guest experience and uphold the bars service standards.
About you
We are looking for a hardworking and energetic individual with a strong interest in bar operations and guest service. Previous experience as a barback or in a similar support role is highly advantageous, particularly within a hotel or high-volume bar environment. The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive and able to work efficiently behind the scenes to ensure bartenders have everything they need for smooth service. A positive attitude, strong teamwork skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
