Salary: Up to £70,000 • Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm • Job Type: Permanent, full‑time

About the Company

A long‑established, family‑run construction and refurbishment contractor with a strong reputation across the public sector, commercial markets and high‑security environments. Known for quality, reliability and long‑standing client relationships, the business is growing and now seeks an experienced Bid Manager / Bid Writer to lead high‑value tender submissions and secure new framework opportunities.

Role Overview

You will take ownership of the full bid lifecycle, producing persuasive, compliant and high‑scoring submissions for public sector frameworks, commercial tenders and blue‑light sector opportunities. Working closely with directors, operational teams and subject matter experts, you will shape winning strategies and ensure every submission reflects the company’s capability and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Bid Leadership & Coordination

Manage end‑to‑end bid and tender processes.

Develop bid plans, response structures and win themes.

Coordinate technical input and stakeholder contributions.

Writing & Content Development

Write, edit and proofread compelling, compliant bid responses.

Maintain and develop bid libraries, case studies and CVs.

Ensure all submissions meet framework, regulatory and security requirements.

Tender Strategy & Analysis

Review tender documents, scoring criteria and compliance requirements.

Shape strategic, high‑scoring responses aligned to evaluation matrices.

Analyse feedback and drive continuous improvement.

Process, Compliance & Submission

Manage deadlines, formatting and electronic tender portals.

Maintain the tender pipeline and monitor new opportunities.

Support clarifications, presentations and post‑submission reviews.

Use digital and AI tools to enhance bid quality and efficiency.

Business Support

Contribute to wider business projects and process improvements.

Support consistent, high‑quality bid practices across the organisation.

Key Skills & Experience

Proven experience in construction bid writing and tender management.

Strong track record with public sector frameworks and commercial tenders.

Exceptional written English with strong editing and proofreading skills.

Highly organised, detail‑driven and commercially aware.

Confident managing multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; InDesign and tender portal experience beneficial.
