Bid Writer
22 Days Old
At AC Whyte, we transform homes and lives through high-quality refurbishment and energy-efficient retrofit. Behind every successful project is a bid that told the right story – and that’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a Bid Writer who can shape compelling, confident submissions that reflect who we are, what we stand for, and why we’re trusted to deliver.
Why this role? Why now?
As we continue to grow, we want our bids to do more than tick boxes – they need to stand out, connect, and showcase our expertise, values, and track record in a way that resonates with clients and partners alike. This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in helping us secure impactful work, using your skills to contribute directly to outcomes that change communities for the better.
What you’ll be doing
- Researching, writing, and coordinating high-quality bid submissions
- Working closely with operational and leadership teams to craft persuasive, tailored responses
- Supporting the development of case studies, project write-ups, and capability statements
- Managing timelines and deadlines to ensure timely, complete, and compelling submissions
- Helping shape the voice of our brand in procurement communications
- Bringing consistency, creativity, and clarity to how we present our story
What we’re looking for
You’re a confident communicator, a strong writer, and a natural organiser. You know how to translate technical input into clear, accessible content – and you understand that every bid is an opportunity to build a relationship.
You’ll bring:
- Previous experience in bid writing, proposals, or copywriting (construction or public sector ideal but not essential)
- Exceptional written English — clear, structured, and engaging
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines
- A collaborative mindset — able to draw knowledge from different teams and shape it into a cohesive message
- Curiosity, initiative, and pride in producing great work that makes a difference
At AC Whyte, we’re known for doing things the right way – with care, consistency, and a relentless focus on quality. That same thinking goes into our bids, where your work is more than just process – it’s about helping win projects that:
- Empower change — for households, for neighbourhoods, and for the environment
- Showcase our expertise — from technical delivery to community engagement
- Strengthen our relationships — by communicating with honesty, clarity, and impact
What we offer
- Competitive salary (based on experience)
- Hybrid working – Glasgow office with flexibility
- 34 days holiday (with length-of-service enhancements)
- Company pension (5% employer contribution)
- A warm, supportive team and opportunities to grow in a values-driven company
