Bid Writer / Bid Manager

Hornchurch (Hybrid Working Available)

Up to £75,000 + Comprehensive Package

An established and highly respected regional main contractor is seeking an experienced Bid Writer / Bid Manager to join its pre-construction team based in Hornchurch.

With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the education, healthcare, commercial, residential and public sectors, the business has a healthy pipeline of secured and upcoming tenders. This is a key appointment, offering the opportunity to play a central role in securing future work and shaping winning submissions.

The Role

You will lead and manage the bid process from initial opportunity through to submission, producing high-quality, compelling tender documents that clearly articulate the company’s strengths, methodology and value proposition.

Depending on your level of experience, this role can be positioned as either a Bid Writer or Bid Manager, with responsibility aligned accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the full bid lifecycle, including PQQs, SQs and ITTs
  • Writing, editing and coordinating high-quality tender submissions
  • Collaborating with operational, commercial and design teams to develop win strategies
  • Preparing and reviewing qualitative responses, ensuring they are tailored and project-specific
  • Managing bid programmes and submission deadlines
  • Maintaining and developing a high-quality bid library
  • Supporting interview presentations and post-tender clarifications

About You

  • Proven experience in a Bid Writer or Bid Manager role within a construction main contractor
  • Strong understanding of public and private sector tendering processes
  • Exceptional written English and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of construction methodologies
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
