What you'll be doingSupply Chain engagement. Monthly engagement with subcontractors and supervisorsAccountable for RAMs, procedures and SSOW across the projectLead pre-starts with the supply chains and mobilise the projectDefine roles and responsibilities of the project team and supply chain with appropriate competencies aligned to risk levels and approvalsEnsure the project and supply chain meet BB Policies and ProceduresAssist the project leadership and operations team in setting and implementing sustainability targets and goalsLead health & safety observations on site and ensure closureLead operations teams on the projectCoordinate and implement site-wide daily briefingsManage programme delivery for the project or its holistic parts, including logic and sequencingOversee short-term planning and schedule decisionsCoordinate planning with BB construction teams, focusing on critical path and EVA efficiencyEnsure clear two-way communication between planning and site teams with records of progress and risk mitigationEnforce disciplined site records with the BB construction team and supply chainEngage BBK and integrate within the project with a unified project goalPrioritise resource and logistics allocationEnsure plant and access coordination to enable critical activities in the correct sequenceMobilise and maintain project lifecycle site setup, applying best practicesEnsure Operational Project Readiness in line with project specificsDevelop and implement phased construction plans considering logistical constraints and mitigationsManage plant, lifting and access with guidance to the logistics teamOversee deliveries, materials and waste movements with clear guidance to the logistics teamSet quality standards for the project and ensure documentation complies with design developmentLead teams to deliver in line with design and specificationsWho we're looking forEffective communication to manage customer relationships, and strong planning and organisational skillsEffective leadership skillsAbility to improve safety and sustainability performanceExperience in negotiations and conflict resolution and ability to lead othersAdept at managing data and processesProven construction management principles expertiseStakeholder management capabilityAdvanced IT skills for BIM and construction management toolsUnderstanding of construction techniques, methodologies and management principlesBudgeting and cost control knowledge with delivery-target awarenessScheduling and programme management expertise, including short-term planningUnderstanding of M&E regulatory requirements and standardsStrong safety protocols knowledgeContract negotiation and procurement knowledgeQuality assurance and quality control understandingRisk management and mitigation strategy knowledgeEnvironmental sustainability practices awarenessConstruction technology and innovation understandingDigital implementation knowledgeLegal considerations and dispute resolution awarenessExperience leading and developing a small single-disciplinary teamPrevious construction management experience in the relevant industryExperience developing and executing work package budgets and schedulingExperience with regulatory agencies and complianceExperience in safety management on construction sites and applying safety protocolsNegotiation with subcontractors, suppliers and clientsConflict resolution and problem-solving on siteValue engineering and cost-saving initiative experienceQuality assurance and quality control oversightAwareness of sustainable construction practicesExperience with construction technology/software for project management and documentationBenefitsSmart working with flexible start/end times and up to 40% remote working where role allows25 days paid annual leave (pro rata)Family-friendly policies including maternity/adoption and paternity/partners leavePension, share incentive plan, volunteering leave, recognition schemes and moreAbout UsBalfour Beatty Kilpatrick is a leader in mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and ME&I solutions.
