About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Mobile Combustion Engineer to cover the Greater London and Home Counties region. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation that values professional development, technical excellence, and long-term career progression.
The role involves delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services across a commercial gas contract portfolio, ensuring compliance, safety, and service excellence at all times.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Service Delivery
- Carry out maintenance of boiler, combustion, and associated building services equipment across assigned sites.
- Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive works as issued by the Helpdesk.
- Deliver services in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Planned/Reactive Maintenance systems.
- Perform first-line fault diagnostics and plan remedial works as required.
- Identify spare parts requirements and notify the Helpdesk accordingly.
- Complete and submit planned maintenance and reactive work documentation accurately and on time.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure full compliance with client Commercial Gas ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 procedures.
- Carry out all regulatory activities in line with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Adhere to best practice standards for planned, reactive, and call-out maintenance activities.
- Fulfil contractual obligations on behalf of the Commercial Gas division.
Health, Safety & Risk Management
- Carry out Risk Assessments, COSHH assessments, and Manual Handling assessments for all tasks.
- Promote a strong culture of accident prevention and damage control.
- Compile and submit incident and accident reports in line with company procedures.
- Ensure correct use of PPE and compliance with safe working practices at all times.
Continuous Improvement
- Provide solutions to engineering challenges and identify opportunities for improvement or additional works.
- Maintain professional relationships with customers and colleagues through a proactive, customer-focused approach.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Take reasonable care for personal health and safety and that of others.
- Report accidents, incidents, or near misses promptly.
- Cooperate fully with company health and safety procedures.
- Use work equipment only for its intended purpose and ensure proper training is completed.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards across work areas.
- Do not interfere with or misuse safety equipment.
- Report any medical issues that may affect work activities.
Qualifications & Certifications Required Applicants must hold relevant commercial and domestic gas qualifications, including:
- CCN1 – Core Domestic Gas Safety
- CENWAT – Central Heating Boilers & Instantaneous Water Heaters
- MET1 – Domestic Gas Meters (up to 6m³)
- CPA1 – Combustion Performance Analysis
- HTR1 – Gas Fires & Wall Heaters
- COCN1 or CODNCO1 – Commercial Gas Safety
- ICPN1 – Commercial Pipework Installation
- CIGA1 – Commercial Indirect-Fired Heating Appliances
- CDGA1 – Direct Fired Gas Heaters
- HWB1 – Gas-Fired Hot Water Boilers (15–40kW)
- TPCP1A – Testing & Direct Purging of Low-Pressure Commercial Pipework
