About the Role
We’re representing a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice based in Dundee, known for providing trusted bookkeeping, tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse SME client base. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a varied client portfolio, develop strong client relationships, and work within a supportive and collaborative firm offering excellent work/life balance.

Key Responsibilities

* Process accounts payable and receivable for a portfolio of clients

* Perform bank reconciliations with accuracy and efficiency

* Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines

* Complete payroll processing and creditors/debtors reconciliations

* Register and deregister clients for VAT

* Manage client queries relating to bookkeeping and accounting software

* Maintain accurate financial records and journal entries

* Support general bookkeeping and finance-related tasks

Ideal Candidate Profile

* AAT qualified or qualified by experience

* Previous experience in a bookkeeping role within an accountancy practice or similar environment

* Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and VAT compliance

* Proficient in Xero, Sage (50/One) and QuickBooks

* High level of accuracy and attention to detail

* Strong organisational and multitasking skills

* Excellent communication and client service skills

* Proactive and reliable with the ability to manage workload independently
