Our Bookkeeper Heidi is Retiring And We’re Not Sure Anyone Can Replace Her. Do you Think You Can?

We’re a small accountancy firm in Wimborne, East Dorset

Our bookkeeper, Heidi is retiring after nine years working with us.

In addition to maintaining our own books using Sage, you will do some bookkeeping work for selected clients, including submitting VAT Returns. This is, in most cases, on Sage, but some knowledge of other accounting systems is also required. At least a working knowledge of Xero and Quickbooks would be ideal.

You will maintain Sales and Purchase ledgers, deal with credit control and schedules supplier accounts for payment. You will also negotiate gas and electricity supplies whenever required.

In addition, you will operate our clients’ money accounts and perform monthly reconciliations for approval by a partner, so some knowledge of Clients’ Money rules may be an advantage. This can be trained, so isn’t vital.

Some knowledge of operating payrolls may be useful, but this function is generally carried out by a colleague. It’s a full-time job, and based in our office, so you must be within commuting distance of Wimborne. We have our own car park. The salary is £26,000. We also pay both Employers’ and Employees’ contributions to workplace pension.
