Additional BenefitsRole Overview A leading distributor of Fluid Power products is looking for a dedicated Branch Manager to oversee the Basingstoke depot. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring the smooth running of business functions, sales, and customer service. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving the performance of the depot while maintaining strong relationships with clients, distributors, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the Pneumatics and Hydraulics sectors, with a solid understanding of the Fluid Power industry. Experience in managing operations, sales, and a team in a technical engineering environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the depot, managing a team of 6, including sales and technical staff.
Drive the branch’s performance, ensuring it meets financial targets, customer satisfaction goals, and service levels.
Manage relationships with existing customers and distributors while developing new business opportunities in the Fluid Power sector.
Maintain effective inventory management, stock control, and logistics to ensure smooth operations.
Collaborate with the Sales Manager and other senior leadership to align branch goals with wider business objectives.
Handle sales-related activities, including providing product demonstrations, attending exhibitions, and negotiating sales.
Maintain a strong presence at the depot, ensuring day-to-day operations are effectively managed.
Regularly liaise with other engineering departments and the broader business to ensure alignment and operational efficiency.Candidate Requirements
Proven experience as a Branch Manager, Depot Manager, Operations Manager, or in a similar leadership role within an engineering environment.
Experience with Pneumatics and Hydraulics is essential. Knowledge of Fluid Power products, such as Valves, Pumps, Filtration, Compressors, Vacuum Systems, Blowers, Motors, or similar mechanical engineering products, is highly desirable.
Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing teams, driving performance, and achieving business objectives.
Solid experience in managing day-to-day operations, including sales, customer service, inventory control, and logistics.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
A high level of determination, enthusiasm, and motivation to succeed and grow within a reputable engineering distributor.
A technical Engineering Degree is advantageous but not essential.
