Location: South Manchester (Hybrid – 2 days office-based)
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + Monthly Bonus (£100–£300 per deal)
The Opportunity An established and fast-growing specialist lender in the South Manchester area is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join its expanding team. The Role As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for assessing and structuring bridging finance cases from initial review through to completion. You’ll work closely with brokers and internal stakeholders to deliver efficient, commercially sound lending decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Underwrite bridging finance applications across residential and commercial assets
Assess credit risk, borrower profile, and deal viability
Structure lending proposals in line with internal criteria
Manage cases through to completion with a focus on speed and quality
Liaise with brokers, valuers, solicitors, and internal teams
Contribute to process improvements as the business continues to grow
Experience Required
Proven underwriting experience within bridging finance, specialist lending, or property finance
Exposure to residential and/or commercial lending
Strong understanding of credit risk and deal structuring
Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
Commercial and pragmatic approach to lending decisions
Salary & Benefits
£45,000 – £55,000 base salary (dependent on experience)
Monthly bonus per completion:
£300 (completed within 2 weeks)
£200 (completed within 2–4 weeks)
£100+ for additional tiers
Hybrid working (2 days in office)
