Summary
SailGP requires an experienced Broadcast Technology Architect to evaluate, optimise, and future-proof its broadcast production workflows. This role will conduct a comprehensive review of post-production, cloud production, on-site broadcast setup, and overall broadcast delivery. They will provide actionable recommendations, improved documentation, and a roadmap for greater efficiency, scalability, and resilience. Reporting to the Chief Content Officer, this role will also work closely with the Technology team and Group Technology Director.
Key Responsibilities
Transform SailGP’s current broadcast workflows and infrastructure (on-site and remote/cloud) into a future proofed operational structure that is both robust and flexible. Reduce inefficiencies, risks, and evaluate scalability and resilience against future requirements.
Manage the technology and workflows for optimal post-production set up internally (ingest, edit, archive, and distribution). Improve and streamline collaboration and turnaround times with the Content team for cloud-enabled editing and media asset management.
Analyse and implement cloud-based tools and workflows for live and near-live production. Develop hybrid workflows that reduce cost while enhancing flexibility. Implement best practices for contribution, switching, graphics, and delivery via cloud infrastructure. Work with EP and the Production Manager to formulate a cost estimation of tools to be used for budgeting.
Work with the on site delivery team and Technology to ensure SailGP events, including production control, connectivity are resilient. Propose standardised setup templates, processes, and technical configurations to ensure consistency across venues. Develop and deliver clear operational documentation including SOPs, checklists, and high level technical schematics. Ensure documentation is designed for repeatable, efficient deployment across SailGP’s global events. Work with onsite technical vendors and SailGP Technology team to deliver world class broadcast delivery.
Manage the technical end-to-end broadcast delivery (live production, post-production, remote workflows, and distribution) in line with the Executive Producer’s needs. Highlight opportunities for standardisation, automation, and improved interoperability. Look at budgets and cost/benefit analysis to maximise efficiencies.
Adhere to broadcast industry standards (SMPTE, EBU, ITU, OCI). Assess recording/delivery specifications and cybersecurity/network hygiene. Efficiently integrate 3rd party vendor systems to ensure we have the appropriate support, and are as efficient as possible.

Location
SailGP HQ in London, United Kingdom. Hybrid working model with a minimum of 3 days per week in the London Office.
