Overview
My client is a well-established and highly regarded building services design consultancy seeking a skilled and motivated Building Physics Consultant to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects across sectors such as healthcare, education, residential, and commercial. The role offers a hybrid working model, with three days in the office and two days working from home, providing flexibility and a healthy work-life balance.

Day-to-Day
Utilise TAS software to perform energy and thermal modelling for a variety of building projects. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to optimize building designs for energy efficiency and occupant comfort. Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support compliance with Part L and other regulations. Contribute to sustainability assessments, including BREEAM, and provide recommendations for improvement. Attend project meetings and provide technical expertise on building physics and energy performance. Balance office-based work with remote working, ensuring effective communication and productivity.
Responsibilities
Conduct energy modelling using TAS software to support building design and performance analysis. Ensure compliance with Part L building regulations and other relevant standards. Provide input on BREEAM comfort assessments and contribute to achieving sustainability goals. Perform thermal modelling and analysis to optimize building performance. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design solutions. Support the preparation of energy assessments and reports, whether certified or not. Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices in building physics and energy modelling.
Qualifications
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a building physics or energy modelling role. Proficiency in TAS software and a strong understanding of thermal modelling principles. Experience with Part L compliance and familiarity with BREEAM comfort requirements. Background in energy assessment, with certification as an energy assessor being advantageous but not essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
