We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Building Supervisor at our West Thurrock Laboratory. This is a critical role within our operation, supporting the safe and efficient running of our laboratories. You will oversee maintenance and facilities management across the building, as well as the organisation and control of sample storage, gas cylinders and replacements, and waste management for all laboratory areas.ABOUT YOUWe are looking for a proactive Building Supervisor with proven experience in overseeing daily building operations, including maintenance and facilities management. A solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations is essential.Required skills and experience:Good verbal and communication skillsFully UK Driving licenceBuilding maintenance and asset managementFacilities operations and space managementKnowledge of Health & Safety regulations and complianceRisk assessment and incident managementContractor and vendor managementPlanned preventative maintenance (PPM)Sustainability and energy managementGood IT literacy skills (MS Office/Excel/Word)ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYWe are looking for a proactive and hands-on individual to take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of our building and surrounding areas, including exterior sample stores, yard, and parking facilities. You will play a key role in supervising on-site building works and ensuring our facilities are maintained to a high standard.Key activities:Supervise and organise any building work carried out onsiteOrdering, handling and replacing gases for the laboratory when requiredOrdering, handling and replacing solvent drums when requiredLiaise with couriers to dispatch samples from the laboratoryMaintaining the sample retention stores in good working orderAssist in sample collections when requiredAssisting your line manager in the selection and recruitment of new staffLiaise with approved waste collection contractors to dispose of samples and other waste produced onsiteSupervise building work carried out on site, ensuring contractors comply with company procedures and the provisions of Health and Safety regulationsWHAT WE OFFERJoin Intertek and become part of our global network of inspiring and entrepreneurial colleagues.
