Job Description

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Building Surveyor for the Birmingham / Midlands regions.\n\n You will mainly deal with properties affected by general perils (fire, flood, storm etc) across a mixed portfolio of commercial major and complex material damage insurance claims.\n \n The Role\n \nClaim Evaluation: Review all information from clients and claim handlers and conduct detailed site visits to validate claims for policy coverage and scope. \nCustomer Interaction: Communicate with policyholders to gather additional information and inform them of policy liability and scope decisions. \nClaim Validation: Use company tools to create repair schedules and validate variations requests based on policy terms.

Be able to interpret policy wordings and apply insurer claims' handling philosophies and guidelines. \nProject Management: Oversee the entire claim process, from damage assessment, validation, repair scoping / scheduling, fulfilment to final report submission. \nCompliance: Ensure all processes comply with company policies, procedures, and Health & Safety legislation.

\nContractor Management: Appoint relevant contractors (e.g., asbestos, drying and restoration specialists, building contractors, etc) and provide clear instructions from the outset of the claim. Skills / Qualifications\n \nRelevant technical / Loss Adjusting experience is desired. \nPrior subsidence project management experience, perhaps.

\nDegree in Building Surveying (BSC Hons). \nYou will ideally be AssocRICS/MRICS/FRICS qualified. \nConversant with CAD, CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall Act 1996, Building Regulation and Planning Legislation.

\nStrong communication skills, both written and verbal. \nExcellent customer service, organizational & communication skills.
