Building Surveyor – South West Council (Communities & Housing Directorate) £37 per hour PAYE - £47 per hour / Umbrella / Deemed LTD (Inside IR35) 37 hours per week 3–6 Month Contract
We are currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor on behalf of a local authority in the South West. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team within the Communities & Housing Directorate, reporting to the Corporate Buildings Manager. You’ll take the lead in delivering capital and planned maintenance projects across a varied portfolio of corporate and listed buildings. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a visible impact on the community, supporting the Council’s drive for modernisation, compliance, and customer-focused delivery.
Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and delivery of capital and planned maintenance schemes. Prepare feasibility studies, technical designs, specifications, and contract documentation. Administer construction contracts from inception to completion, ensuring value for money. Conduct a range of building surveys, including condition, dilapidation, and structural assessments.
