A global investment bank is currently recruiting for a Business Analyst – eTrading (VP) on a permanent basis to join its Bonds eTrading IT team in London, supporting continued investment and growth across its electronic Fixed Income trading platforms.

ION platform experience is essential for this role. Candidates must have proven, hands‑on experience working with ION in a live Fixed Income eTrading environment.

The role is based in London and offers hybrid working, with typically 3 days per week in the office.

They are seeking a front‑office‑facing Business Analyst with strong Fixed Income product knowledge to work closely with Sales, Trading, and IT delivery teams, supporting the design, delivery and enhancement of eTrading functionality across Bonds and related products.

Key Responsibilities

eTrading Business Analysis & Delivery

• Act as the primary Business Analyst supporting the Bonds eTrading desk
• Capture, analyse and document functional requirements from Sales and Trading users
• Produce detailed functional specifications and contribute to delivery planning
• Ensure enhancements align with the agreed business roadmap and regulatory requirements
• Contribute to project estimation, prioritisation and delivery tracking

Platform Development, Testing & Change

• Lead functional testing and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users and QA teams
• Support the planning and execution of change management and user onboarding
• Prepare test scenarios, non‑regression testing and release documentation
• Work closely with development and support teams to maintain stability in a live eFI trading environment

ION & Fixed Income Platform Support

• Drive enhancements, configuration and integration of the ION platform
• Support Fixed Income product lines including:
• Credit & Government Bonds (EGB, UST, KTB, JGB)
• Structured Products
• Inflation
• Collaborate with wider IT teams on system integration and platform evolution
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and regulatory controls (e.g. MiFID, MAR)

The Ideal Candidate

• Essential: Strong, hands‑on experience with ION in a live Fixed Income eTrading environment
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst within Capital Markets IT
• Strong understanding of Bonds trading and Sales & Trading workflows
• Experience supporting front‑office users within an Investment Bank
• Solid project delivery skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Calm, organised and analytical, with strong attention to detail under pressure

Technical & Market Knowledge

• Fixed Income trading applications and workflows
• Experience with tools such as:
• ION (essential)
• Bloomberg
• Reuters (Eikon / Dealing / Workspace)
• Auction and broker systems
• Understanding of IT architecture, messaging and middleware (e.g. Solace)
• Awareness of regulatory requirements impacting eTrading environments

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline
