Our 12-month industry placements start in September and give you hands-on experience while building skills that matter. This is more than just a placement - it’s an opportunity to learn, grow, and explore career pathways that could lead to your next big step.

What you’ll do

Business and Communications roles support the teams that keep the Environment Agency running effectively and help communicate our work to the public, partners and stakeholders. You’ll help ensure environmental work is well planned, well communicated and delivers real impact.

During your placement, you could gain experience in:

• Internal and external communications
• Stakeholder engagement and partnership working
• Business support, planning and coordination
• Project and programme support
• Data, reporting and performance monitoring
• Supporting campaigns, events or digital content

You’ll work with colleagues across different teams, contributing to real projects and day-to-day activity. These roles help you build transferable skills in communication, organisation, collaboration and problem-solving, while gaining insight into how a large public organisation operates.
