Stott and May Consultancy is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Statement of Work (SOW) division. We’re seeking a talented Business Development Consultant to help us forge new partnerships, expand our client portfolio, and drive growth in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

About the Role

As a Business Development Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in engaging with senior decision-makers—including C-suite executives and Directors—to deliver tailored project-based workforce solutions. Your expertise will be key in identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and presenting compelling proposals that demonstrate our value and differentiate us from competitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic business development initiatives to generate new client opportunities within the SOW space.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across various organisations.
  • Conduct in-depth needs assessments and deliver customised solutions that meet client objectives.
  • Create, write, and pitch persuasive proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including technical and delivery units, to ensure seamless onboarding and successful project execution.
  • Track and report on sales activity, pipeline health, and key performance indicators.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in business development within the consultancy, staffing, or professional services sectors.
  • Prior experience at a firm like EY or similar professional services organisations is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels.
  • Strong presentation and proposal-writing skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Passion for building long-term client relationships and delivering exceptional service.
